My wheels were clean when I installed the new brakes 600 miles ago. Now they look like this.

Update: At least they clean up with only a moderate amount of elbow grease.

Does Akebono make pads for your car? Because Akebono makes awesome ceramic pads that don’t dust like that :o)

Agreed. Have always used akebono ceramics and have recommended them plenty of times. No dust.

My front wheels are like that within a day of washing my car. Same with the 2018 rendition of my car that my g randpa has. Edit: CR-Vs, btw

Based on color and quantity of the brake dust  I’m guessing Hawk pads?

You should try the Portfiel R4S brake pads have them in my mustang with Baer brakes... A nd they are grippy rotor friendly, with no noise and very low to no dust.... Got to get the other set on the outback this weekend the wildwood bp20 pads are driving me nuts. If the work well in the willwod calipers I ’m going to try them in the Sti.

Yup, Hawk HP+. Total overkill for my car and tires but it now stops as well as my Dad's BRZ with it's 4 pot Brembos.

I'm sure they do but these pads dust like they do because they are an extremely high performance street and track pad. Hawk HP+.

That sucks for OEM brakes. Mine at least have the excuse of being high performance track pads to make up for being super squeaky and dusty.

My goal when updating my brakes was maximum performance for track and autocross while still being useable for driving to work during the week. Thus I ended up going with Hawk HP+ pads and high carbon rotors.

Yeah the R4S will meet the need better than the hawk....at least that's in my experience.

I might have to give them a look when the Hawks are dead.

Mine are high performance too, how else do you think I was able to slow down in time after I hit 60mph in 5.5 seconds
